Sh2-129 is very large, but dim nebula in Cepheus, some 4 degrees west of the well-known large nebula IC1396. It surrounds a group of stars that give it the ultraviolet radiation required for the ionization of the hydrogen gas. It has diameter of 55ly and its distance from us is 1300ly. |
